Online shop in Lyon

E-commerce website design in Lyon: selling without depending on a marketplace

An online shop opens your business to everyone who never walks past your window. I build shops for retailers, makers and producers in Lyon and the north-west of Lyon. You keep the catalogue up yourself, the buyer is not lost on the way to the checkout, and no marketplace takes a commission out of the sale.

The starting price is €2,990 and the timeline five to eight weeks. The quote is fixed. The shop, the code and the domain name are in your name from day one.

from €2,990 Indicative timeline: 5 to 8 weeks

Who it is for, and what it does

This format suits the local business that wants to sell beyond its own street: delicatessen, wine merchant, bike shop, florist. It also suits the maker with a catalogue to show (ceramics, leather goods, furniture) and the producer delivering direct or to a pick-up point.

It does not suit everything. A catalogue of ten thousand references fed by a management system, a multi-vendor marketplace, a complicated product configurator: those projects are perfectly buildable, but they fall outside the starting price and are quoted after scoping. And if you sell services rather than products, a brochure site will cost you less.

What makes a shop sell

The product page does most of the work. A photograph that shows the object as it is, a description that answers the questions people ask you in store, the size, the material, the dispatch time. Then the delivery charges, shown from the basket onwards rather than at the last step, because that is where most orders are lost. And a two-click payment, with no compulsory account.

The rest comes down to trust. Visible reviews, readable terms of sale, a returns policy written in plain words, an address and a number that take two seconds to find. Somebody hesitating over typing in a card number wants to know who they are dealing with first.

Running your shop yourself, day to day

The admin side is built to be held by you day to day: adding a product, changing a price, flagging something out of stock on a Saturday afternoon, printing a delivery note, refunding an order. Confirmation, dispatch and abandoned-basket emails go out on their own.

An hour of training is included at launch. If you already run a till or a management system, a link-up is possible so stock is only entered once; it is quoted separately, according to what your software can export.

What moves the price

The size of the catalogue and the number of variants per product. A shirt in four sizes and three colours is twelve references to manage. Then the carriers and payment methods to connect, any link to a till, how far the design is tailored, and carrying over an existing shop with its orders and its redirects.

All of it is costed in the quote before we start: 30% deposit on signature, the balance at launch, a quote valid for three months, and payment in instalments is possible.

How it works

01

Listening & scoping, 1 to 2 hours

We go through your products, your variants, your delivery areas and your payment methods. From that I draw a shop plan and a fixed quote.

02

Design, 1 week

Home page, product page and checkout are shown to you before the first line of code, and we adjust until you sign them off.

03

Build & catalogue import, 3 to 5 weeks

Catalogue, stock, payment, carriers, automatic emails. Your products are imported from a file we prepare together.

04

Launch & training

End-to-end test orders, go live, then an hour of training on order management.

Common questions about online shops

From €2,990, with catalogue, payment, carriers and training included. Beyond that, it is the size of the catalogue, the number of variants, any link to your till and the degree of design work that push the figure up, written into the quote before we start.

It depends on your volume and on how self-sufficient you want to be. A rented platform starts fast, but it costs a monthly subscription for as long as the shop lives and leaves you owning nothing. WooCommerce gives you the controls for a low recurring cost; a custom build earns its keep when the way you sell does not fit a standard. I tell you which of the three fits your case at the first conversation.

Card through Stripe or an equivalent, PayPal, bank transfer, and payment on collection where your trade allows it. Commission is billed by the payment provider, not by me: I take no percentage of your sales.

Yes, and that is the most common case. If your till can export or share its stock, we synchronise the two so you never sell online something already gone from the shelf. Otherwise the shop keeps its own stock, which you adjust from the admin side.

Colissimo, Mondial Relay, a local carrier or collection in store, as you prefer. Rates are set by zone or by weight, and free delivery above a given amount is possible.

Let's talk about your shop

A free hour to talk it through, then a written fixed quote. Yours to do with as you like.
