Independent electoral media — 2027 French presidential election
Paroles & Votes (“Words & Votes”) confronts what candidates say with what they have actually voted. For every statement: a sourced fact-check. For every candidate and party: the voting record, theme by theme — pensions, energy, Europe, defence...
The project is designed as a common good: open source, self-hostable, run by a non-profit association, ad-free and collecting no personal data whatsoever. The editorial line is public, governed by a methodology charter, and every fact-check cites its sources.
Under the hood, an automated pipeline collects statements and parliamentary votes daily, transcribes and pre-classifies them with AI — while editorial validation remains human. An electoral compass finally helps everyone position candidates against their own priorities, based on actions rather than promises.
What this project demonstrates: designing a complete product — data, AI automation, editorial workflow, lean infrastructure — built for reliability and transparency. Qualities that serve a business project just as well.
Every verified statement is linked to its primary sources: official records, public votes, legal texts.
Candidates’ and parties’ votes, organized by theme and going back as far as public data allows.
Daily collection, transcription (Whisper) and pre-classification are automated; humans validate, the machine prepares.
A tool to compare your priorities with the positions each candidate has actually expressed and voted.
